Sunny Dhaliwal is an attorney with Fuerst Ittleman. She primarily practices in the areas of Tax and Tax Litigation, Food and Drug, Administrative Law, and Litigation. Ms. Dhaliwal joined Fuerst Ittleman as a law clerk during the summer prior to her third year in law school where she gained a strong background in Internal Revenue Service (“IRS”) Examinations, IRS Collections, and Litigation in Tax Court.  She also gained experience in international tax, including issues pertaining to Form TD F 90-22.1, Report of Foreign Bank and Financial Accounts (“FBAR”) and the IRS Offshore Voluntary Disclosure Initiatives. 

Ms. Dhaliwal has conducted many reviews of dietary supplement, cosmetic, and food product labels and websites to ensure compliance with all FDA and FTC regulations.  In addition, she has assisted clients with responding to deficiencies in 510K Submissions for medical device products.  She has also acquired knowledge of issues surrounding the Freedom of Information Act (“FOIA”). 

During law school, Ms. Dhaliwal was a judicial intern for Judge Vance Salter at the Florida Third District Court of Appeals.  She also gained valuable litigation experience as a law clerk at Legal Services of Greater Miami.  In addition, Ms. Dhaliwal developed an understanding of insurance defense litigation as a law clerk at Rudd and Diamond, P.L.

Ms. Dhaliwal is originally from Great Falls, VA.  She is a first generation Indian American and is fluent in Punjabi and Hindi.  She earned her bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan. While working towards her undergraduate degree, Ms. Dhaliwal worked in Events Management at the Detroit Marriott at the Renaissance Center, where she assisted in planning meetings and events of General Motors, Ford, and Chrysler Executives, UAW leaders, the Detroit Redwings Management, and NFL officials involved in planning Super Bowl XL in Detroit.  She graduated cum laude from the University of Miami School of Law in 2011 in Coral Gables, FL.  During law school, Ms. Dhaliwal was a research assistant to Professor Osamudia James, focusing her research in Administrative Law.
